Since this is a popular cruise line for families, I made sure to talk with the kids’ recreation staff for this Carnival Elation Review. There’s an adults only sun lounging area for ages 21+ on Deck 9 Aft, called the Serenity Deck. We found that the Deck 15 Sun Deck was larger and quieter. While the sun deck does not have a hot tub, it was our favorite place to relax with a good book! And, since my daughter is only 19, we could hang out together.
Activities range from things the entire family can enjoy (like mini golf), to kid-specific activities that they can enjoy on their own, at one of the three on-board kids’ clubs. Unfortunately, the other options aren’t all that plentiful. Your paid options include Bonsai Sushi Express for fast sushi bites and JavaBlue Café for your caffeine fix.
Grand Vista Suite
There are very few Carnival Elations rooms classified as suites on the ship. The The 49 Junior Suites offer 220 square feet of space with a sitting area in the cabin and a small balcony. These suites come with upgraded amenities, but do not include priority boarding or other perks. Standard balcony staterooms provide seating for two, to enjoy the sound of the waves and maximum sea breeze on your skin as you relax in the sunshine, with unobstructed views of the horizon. The aft-view extended balcony stateroom enriches the experience a bit with an even larger balcony.
